In this project, my own face and body form the basis for creating masks and sculptures. In doing so, I explore the themes of decay, identity, and the aging of my own physique. As a first-generation smartphone user, it has also become second nature for us to take selfies, edit them in a flattering way, or delete them out of insecurity. With this project, I reflect on the distortion of our self-image, the transience of the human physique, and the way we capture ourselves in a digital world where beauty is often manipulated.
